Give workers everything they need on the shift
And get back a verified record of what was delivered.
Your support workers arrive knowing what to do and leave having recorded it. Each shift on their phone carries the address, instructions and care plan, a GPS check-in and check-out, the progress note, any incident and the kilometres travelled.
Free for 14 days, with rostering, the support worker app, progress notes and NDIS invoicing. Set it up yourself online.
What changes for you
Proof the support happened
GPS check-in and check-out against the shift location give you a time- and place-stamped record for every shift, ready for payroll, billing and audit.
Notes written on shift, not days later
Workers write the progress note before they can close the shift, with prompts from the participant’s goals, so documentation is complete and contemporaneous.
Safer shifts for participants
Risk alerts, the behaviour support plan, mealtime and medication instructions are on screen when the worker needs them, and incidents are reported from the shift itself.
A shift, start to finish
- Step 1Before the shift
The worker reviews instructions, risk alerts and the care plan summary.
- Step 2Check in
GPS check-in at the address starts the shift and the timesheet line.
- Step 3Deliver the support
Tasks ticked off, medications recorded, incidents reported as they happen.
- Step 4Write the note
Progress note and photos saved against the participant’s goals.
- Step 5Check out
Check-out, travel and kilometres recorded; the shift is ready for timesheets and billing.
On every support worker’s phone iPhone and Android, online or offline.
How your team gets the app
- 01You add the support worker in CompanionAxis.
- 02They get an invite by SMS or email with a link to install the app and sign in.
- 03They sign in once, then unlock with a PIN or Face ID on each shift.
See it in the app a closer look at the screens your team uses every day.
A shift record you can bill, pay and defend
Every shift ends with a check-in and check-out time and location, a progress note, any medication or incident records, and travel. That record flows into the timesheet and the invoice without anyone retyping it, and it is the same record an auditor or the NDIS Commission would ask to see.
- Geofenced check-in and check-out with exception reasons
- Note required before the shift can close
- Photos and evidence stored on the participant record, not the phone
- Kilometres and travel captured against the shift
What’s included
10 features
- My shiftsUpcoming and open shifts with participant, address, times and co-workers, plus push notifications when a shift is added, changed or cancelled.
- GPS check-in and check-outCheck-in is captured with location against a geofence around the shift address. Out-of-area or late check-ins are flagged for the coordinator with the reason the worker gives.
- Shift instructions and tasksShift-specific instructions and a task checklist set by the coordinator, such as transport to day program or a meal prepared to the mealtime plan.
- Care plan at a glanceThe participant’s key needs, communication preferences, risk alerts, current goals and behaviour support strategies, in a short view designed to read in under a minute.
- Progress notes with photosStructured shift notes with goal prompts, free text and photos of activities or evidence, saved straight to the participant record.
- Incident report from the shiftStart an incident report in the moment, with the participant, time and location pre-filled. Possible reportable incidents are escalated to the right manager straight away.
- eMAR promptsScheduled medications due during the shift appear as prompts, and the worker records given, refused or withheld, with PRN use recorded against its protocol.
- Travel and kilometresProvider travel between shifts and kilometres driven with participants are logged against the shift, ready for pay and for billing under the current NDIS Pricing Schedule rules.
- Team messagesShift handover and team messages in the app, so information about a participant stays inside the organisation rather than in personal text threads.
- Works with patchy signalSoonThe day’s shifts and check-in and check-out will keep working without coverage, and notes will save as drafts on the phone, syncing when the connection returns.
Works with the rest of CompanionAxis
Notes written in the app sit on the participant record for team leaders and coordinators to review.
Explore Progress notes →Check-in, check-out and kilometres build the worker’s timesheet automatically.
Explore Timesheets and payroll →eMAR prompts appear in the app when each dose is due, and every dose is recorded against the shift.
Explore Medication →Questions buyers ask
Does it work on workers’ own phones?
Yes. The app runs on iOS and Android, and participant information is kept inside the app rather than in the phone’s photos or messages. Access ends as soon as a worker is deactivated.
What if a worker checks in from the wrong place?
The check-in is still recorded, but it is flagged as outside the geofence and the worker is asked for a reason. The coordinator sees the exception when approving the timesheet.
What happens with no mobile signal?
The app needs a mobile or Wi-Fi connection to sync. Support for patchy signal is coming soon: the day’s shifts and check-in and check-out will keep working without coverage, notes will save as drafts on the phone, and everything syncs when the connection returns.
