Show the NDIS Commission what you already do
Incidents, restrictive practices, worker screening and claims, recorded once and ready as evidence.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission expects registered providers to meet the Practice Standards and prove it, and the Securing the NDIS for Future Generations Act 2026 raises the stakes: SIL providers must be registered from 1 July 2026, and differentiated pricing from 1 January 2027 gives unregistered providers lower price limits for some supports. CompanionAxis is software, not a registered provider: it keeps the records your audit relies on as a by-product of rostering, shift notes and billing, so nobody rebuilds evidence the week before an audit.
What CompanionAxis gives your audit
Audit evidence without the scramble
Each Practice Standards indicator points to the records that show it, so your auditor sees evidence from everyday work, not documents written for the audit.
No missed notification deadlines
Reportable incidents are flagged as they are logged and the 24-hour and 5-business-day timeframes are tracked, with the right people alerted.
Claims that match the support delivered
Claims are built from completed shifts against the participant’s service agreement and the current NDIS Pricing Schedule, so every line item traces back to a shift note.
Where CompanionAxis stands today
We show exactly what works now and what is in development, so you can plan with confidence.
From incident to Commission notification
- Step 1Record
The support worker logs the incident from the shift in the worker app, with what happened and who was involved.
- Step 2Triage
The incident is flagged as reportable where it meets the criteria, and the notification timeframe starts.
- Step 3Alert
The team leader and quality manager are alerted, with the time left to notify the Commission.
- Step 4Notify
Your team notifies the Commission with the details already gathered, and records the notification against the incident.
- Step 5Investigate and close
Actions, outcomes and lessons are recorded, and the risk register and behaviour support plan are updated where needed.
- Step 6Evidence
The closed incident appears as evidence against the incident management Practice Standard for your next audit.
NDIS compliance questions
Is CompanionAxis approved by the NDIS Commission?
The NDIS Commission does not approve or certify software. CompanionAxis is not a registered provider; your organisation holds the registration. CompanionAxis helps you meet the Practice Standards and keeps the evidence your auditor will ask for.
Does CompanionAxis notify the Commission for us?
No. Your organisation notifies reportable incidents and reports restrictive practices to the Commission. CompanionAxis flags reportable incidents, tracks the timeframes and gathers the details, so the notification is quick and complete.
What happens when the NDIS Pricing Schedule changes?
The NDIS Pricing Schedule and Support Catalogue are updated in CompanionAxis, including differentiated price limits for registered and unregistered providers from 1 January 2027, and claims are checked against the prices in force on the date of the support. Your service agreements and quotes show where a price needs to change.
What isn’t available yet?
Direct verification of Worker Screening Checks and direct NDIA API claiming are coming soon. Today you record screening details and expiry dates in CompanionAxis, and submit claims with a bulk payment request file through the my NDIS provider portal.
