Record pharmacy deliveries, new or changed orders and stopped medicines so the eMAR matches the current chart.
Before you begin
- Your role can manage medication charts and stock.
When a Webster-pak arrives
- Go to Care → Medication and eMAR and open Stock and counts.
- Select Record count, choose the Medication, set Count type to Delivery received, enter Counted and choose a Witness if needed, then Save count.
- If the pharmacy sent a new Webster-pak schedule, upload it on Medication charts with Upload chart and Chart type Webster-pak schedule.
Record a changed or new order
- Upload the new chart or order on Medication charts with Upload chart (Prescriber chart, Pharmacy chart or Discharge summary).
- Changes to what is given, how much, how or when send the medicine back to Needs verifying until a second person checks it.
- Doses already scheduled after a change are cancelled and recreated; a worker opening an old dose sees “Dose cancelled”.
Dose aids on the eMAR
- Medicines in a Webster-pak, Blister pack or Sachet roll show Dose aid on the round board.
- When giving them, the worker ticks that the dose aid slot matches the chart and signs it.
Stopped or held medicines
- Current medication charts shows On hold medicines; ceased medicines drop off the list and their future doses stop.
Tips
- Count deliveries the day they arrive so days-left figures stay right.
If something goes wrong
“Sign the dose aid slot this dose came from.”
Tick the dose aid box before saving a given dose.
“Another pack is in use”.
A pack of the same kind is already in use for those dates. Complete or return it first.
