Find your next shift, your roster for the week or fortnight, the shift plan and address, and what you need to know about each participant before you arrive.
Before you begin
- You are signed in to the support worker app.
- Your coordinator has published shifts to you. Draft shifts don’t show in the app.
See your next shift on Today
- Open the app on Today. The top line shows whether you are on or off shift and when your next shift is.
- The large card shows your next shift: where, time, type and the shift plan or address under Before you go.
- Tap Care plan (one participant) or Shift details to read more.
- Scroll down to This week for your shifts and rostered hours, and the day strip showing which days you work.
Check your roster
- Tap Roster at the bottom.
- Choose This week, Next week or Fortnight. Totals show shifts, hours and, if your organisation shows it, Est. pay before tax.
- Each shift shows its time, place, type and status: Confirmed, In progress, Completed, Past or Cancelled.
- Tap a shift to open it.
Read the shift
- Read the Shift plan, which holds the instructions your coordinator wrote.
- Check Shift tasks if there are any. They unlock when you clock in.
- Under Participant (or Participants), a red warning icon means the person has risk alerts.
- Working with lists co-workers on the shift; Contacts lists numbers you can call.
- Under Location, tap Directions to open maps. Some addresses only show from a set time before the shift, for example The address shows from Tue 9:00.
Read the participant’s profile
- Tap the participant’s name on the shift, or find them on the People tab.
- Read Alerts and risks at the top, including any mealtime plan.
- Use the tabs: About (care plan, communication and culture, contacts), Goals, Health (medications and high-intensity supports) and Notes (recent progress notes).
- From here you can tap Write a progress note, or the icons for incidents and the eMAR.
Tips
- Pull down on any screen to refresh. If you are offline, the app shows what was saved last and says so at the top.
- What you can see (address, care plan, medication chart, recent notes, contacts, your pay estimate) is set by your organisation and can differ per branch.
If something goes wrong
A shift your coordinator mentioned isn’t in the app
It may still be a draft. Ask your coordinator to publish it, then pull down to refresh. See Shift not showing in the worker app.
The care plan says No care plan shared
Your organisation hasn’t shared one for this participant, or it is hidden for workers. Ask your team leader.
The address is missing
Your organisation may show addresses only close to the shift, or not at all. Check the time shown, or ask your coordinator.
