Direct claiming will send validated batches to the NDIA through its API, with results coming back automatically. Until it is live for you, claim with the bulk payment request file.
Before you begin
- The NDIA API channel is available to your organisation (it shows as coming soon until then).
- Permission to configure claims settings and submit through the API (Finance role).
What it will do
- A validated batch is sent to the NDIA through the Digital Partnership Program instead of being uploaded by hand.
- Each line’s API status, NDIA reference and payment show on the batch; results are applied as they arrive: paid lines match to invoices, rejected lines go to rework.
- You can select Poll now to check for results, and Withdraw a line to make it ready to claim again.
What you see today
- On Billing → Bulk claims, the How claims are submitted card lists the bulk file as Available and the NDIA API with a coming soon badge or its set-up status.
- In New bulk claim, the Submission channel card shows Submit via NDIA API greyed out until the connection is live.
When it is switched on for you
- In How claims are submitted, select Link PRODA device.
- Enter the PRODA organisation RA number, Device name and Device activation code (used once, never stored), then select Activate device.
- On a validated batch without a file, select Submit via NDIA API instead of Generate file. The toast confirms the batch was sent and that results come back automatically.
Meanwhile
- Claim with the bulk file: Generating a bulk payment request file and Uploading the file in the my NDIS provider portal through PRODA.
Tips
- A batch that already has a bulk file goes through the portal, not the API.
- The device link is a PRODA B2B device, never a person’s PRODA login.
If something goes wrong
PRODA device expired — renew it.
Select Replace PRODA device and activate a new device.
Paused by CompanionAxis — use the bulk file.
The API channel is paused. Generate and upload the bulk file for now.
