A future update will let CompanionAxis check a worker's NDIS Worker Screening clearance directly. It isn't available yet. This article explains what is planned and how to verify clearances meanwhile.

- The Verify credentials permission.
What is planned
- Direct screening is a planned part of Screening and credentials: verifying a clearance online from the credential itself.
- Today the NDIS Worker Screening connection is listed as prefill only, and the online verify action answers that the feature is coming soon.
- There is no date for it yet, because there is no public Worker Screening Database interface for software to use.
Verify a clearance today
- Search for the worker’s clearance in the NDIS Worker Screening Database yourself.
- In CompanionAxis, go to Team → Screening and credentials, open the To verify tab and select Review on the check.
- Confirm the Number, Issuing state and Expires date.
- Under How you checked, choose NDIS Worker Screening Database.
- Enter your search reference in Reference (optional) and select Verify.

The method and reference are kept on the credential’s history, so an auditor can see how and when each clearance was checked.
Keep clearances current meanwhile
- Keep the NDIS Worker Screening Check required for every participant-facing position in Requirements by position.
- Check the Expiring tab weekly and select Remind for anyone due.
- Re-check clearances in the database when you hear of a change, and revoke or update the credential if needed.
